Video Picnic I & II
Co-curator and Media Director for immersive art screening showcasing over 30 international artists produced at Martha's Contemporary ATX by Concept Animals. Seating was socially distanced across grassy areas, and the screening floated amidst digital clouds that moved in sync with the changing pace of the various video work selections. Guests enjoyed picnic baskets of drink and food and a virtual picnic basket from which they could buy art.

Jamel Shabazz Retrospective
Technical Manager + Exhibit Coordinator The inaugural retrospective of renowned New York photographer Jamel Shabazz showcased over 30 years of his work in a compelling three-room museum exhibit. The display featured a blend of photography, multimedia motion installations, and detailed wall treatments. Casey offered curatorial support with hand-drafted elevations throughout the year long planning process.

One Bad Monkey, Women and Their Work
New Media Director Worked with artist Steef Crombach in the studio to the exhibition to seamlessly integrate three audiovisual sculptures along side analog work into their solo exhibition at Women and Their Work. The 13-foot-high sculptural tapestries start white and progressively reveal deepening colors and carved shadows as dynamic characters move across them. Casey coordinated with animator Claire Schlaikjer to prepare assets for projection, while Kenzie Slottow provided sound art.

Digital Den

Core Exhibition at Carver Museum
Media Design Lead for the GD Wright Works Install Team. Designed and installed new media elements under a tight timeline for permanent exhibition at George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center and managed media and system designs for high-resolution narrative animation on a video wall, archive scanning and reproduction, and vintage sound dome installations.

“Small Black Museum Residency Show”
Technical manager + Exhibit coordinator. The inaugural cohort of residency artists launched during quarantine at Carver Museum ATX. The exhibit featured two interactive video game experiences projected in the gallery, a video installation displayed across three sequential monitors, and paintings by Adrian Armstrong curated by Carre Adams.

“Grooves in the Deep, The Space and Time Math of George Clinton”
Exhibit Coordinator + Technical Manager The exhibit celebrated the distinctive and lesser-known visual works of renowned musician and afro-futurist George Clinton. The exhibit shared a rare and diverse array of media, including animation, video, original paintings, and the artist's personal artifacts. The installation also featured innovative headphones with retractable wiring, abstract paintings, and vertical record players in motion. The exhibit was produced by SOHO House and Spring McManus Art Advisory at Carver Museum ATX. Curated by Jessica Valoris and Carre Adams.

“Dark Matter”
Curator + Media Exhibit Design Three room exhibition entirely in the dark, filled with projected animations, video art installations, and laser based fog tunnel featuring artists such as Dax Norman, Erin O’Malley, Guicho Flores, Amy Hoagland and more. “Resurfacing” George Washington Carver Museum
Curator Group show featuring three artists and women who incorporate technology as mediums as integral parts of their art practice. The show features jacard weave works by Sienna Smith, video pieces by animator Julia Zipporah and light sculpture and paintings be Alexis hunter.

“Power B*tch”, Suite 650 Curated by Malek Lazry
The performance art and endurance piece showcased artist, Moll Brau running on a life-size hamster wheel, set against a backdrop of projections featuring men on an escalator ascending into floating clouds. Interwoven with these visuals were loops of interviews with women recounting their experiences of harassment in the workplace. Visitors had the opportunity to interact by issuing various commands, prompting Brau to dismount the wheel and undertake a series of tasks, creating a dynamic and immersive commentary on labor, gender, and personal agency.

“Geraldine’s Place” at Art 84

The experience guided audiences through four areas of her house, narrating her life and showcasing her work. Casey worked with Art 84 and the Hickerson family to digitally retouch and collage old photos of the deteriorating home back to its colorful mural-covered state. They crafted an immersive story with images, videos, and sound bites from Hickerson’s archive, enhancing visitor engagement with her artistic legacy.

“MAPSLAP” Interactive Live Stream Sculpture
Collaborator with Steef Crombach. This open-source, interactive projection mapping sculpture invited audiences to contribute personal images to our digital palette, creating a unique art experience during quarantine. We live-streamed selfies, horses, and loved ones onto hanging sculptures, fostering a sense of community with over 1,000 viewers on Twitch who watched and commented. Funded by the City of Austin and the Future of Fashion Institute

Psycho Jelly for SXSW 2019’ + 20’
Project Manager for Psycho Jelly. Managed and facilitated the concept and design of interactive Stage visuals. Head and hand gear available to VIP, audiences heart rates and brain waves informed and created the shapes and visuals on the LED stage set. Immersive gallery and interactive projection concert was also being planned until the cancellation of SXSW 2020.

Digital Eyes + Baby by Elizabeth Chapin
Worked with Soft Sculptor and Painter Elizabeth Chapin to create her first sculptures incorporating projection mapping and animation. In “Digital Eyes,” projection illuminates the painted surface with animated blinking eyes, enhancing the figure amidst a vibrating water surface. In “Baby,” watercolor stop motion transforms a baby into a demon.

One Bad Monkey by Steef Crombach
Casey worked with Steef Crombach to create a dynamic, face-changing animated Gorilla Bust for Crombach’s solo exhibition at Women and Their Work Gallery. Casey faciliated studio tests, production processes and coordinated with animator Claire Schlaikjer to guide the digital asset creation to final projection mapping phases. The sculpture was cast from a widely used generic street sculpture, and its shifting colors symbolize the diverse paint jobs applied to this commonly fabricated form across the country.

Digital Genesis

Collaborator with Ender Martos for dual projector 10' sculpture and centerpiece of Martos x Triburion Media’s Celebration of Change two floor exhibition. The interior pulses with color gradations, while outside the sculpture floating disks vibrate with micro projection mapped changing colors.

Ice Frame
Worked with Sculptor Amy Hoagland in studio and exhibition for ‘Ice Frame’ her first work to integrate projection mapping into her sculptural work. Together we explored the mapping program Resolume and creative lighing customizations. Hoagland still utilizes video mapping in her practice today.

Topographic Clay Table

Exercises in Advancing Forward by Moll Brau
Video Editor and Installation Design. for performance and video piece featured in Mol Brau's solo exhibition "Hokey Pokey" at Martha's ATX. Video condensed 8+ hours of footage into 12 minutes following the curatorial intentions of artists vis’ vision. “Exercises in Advancing Forward” shows the artist digging their own grave over a two day period in the hot Texas sun.

Animated Set Designs at North Door
Visual Director + Stage Designer creating sculptural projections for monthly queer comedy performances produced by Thee Gay Agenda. Build-a-box set structures were designed as a low-budget solution for creating different animated sets, such as the interactive Window’s 98 Computer, Animated Dual Sets for CLUE and Test Tube Tower’s for "Gender Isn’t Real” Performance. Casey worked with Thee Gay Agenda on set design projects, visual branding development, and digital museum pop-ups at venues such as Contemporary Austin, Mohawk, and North Door.
