Topographic Depth Mapping Table Interactive
Moldable Depth Mapping Table, 2019. 8’x13’3’ Audience sculpted shapes, mountains and faces on the clay table as the colors changed based on the height of their creations throughout a 2 week exhibition period.
“The installation existed as a table of clay that was being projection mapped onto. The projected content would change depending on the height of the clay on the table much like a topographical map. This was driven by a custom application and custom media server that was taking in real-time depth imaging data, processing it, and feeding it out to the projector as real-time generative video. The projections and depth camera were calibrated perfectly so that the video content tracked and followed the items on the table smoothly.” - Davis
